New Rescue Vehicle Appeal 2007

Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team has launched an appeal to raise £30,000 to fund the purchase and equipping of a new rescue vehicle. This will replace a 17 year old vehicle which has become increasingly unreliable over recent years. The vehicle is needed to carry team members, vital first aid and other team equipment quickly to the nearest road location to an incident.

Raffle ticket 2007

As part of the appeal we also launched a raffle with the aim of raising £8,000 towards the cost of the new vehicle. There were 14 excellent prizes on offer, including a top prize of a 2 weeks holiday accommodation in Florida (including £500 towards flights), donated by local businessman Bob Slack.

Other prizes include a weekend break for two at the Trout Hotel, Cockermouth; dinner, bed and breakfast for two at the Bridge Hotel, Buttermere; meals at the Kirkstile Inn, Loweswater and Junipers, Cockermouth. Interestingly there are also sailing, map/compass/GPS and climbing instruction days as prizes. The half-day climbing instruction is with Tim Mosedale, local mountaineer and conqueror of Everest.

The raffle was drawn on Tuesday 25th September. The winners were:
